Steamboat Springs is one of the largest resorts in North America and is considered a diamond in the rough because of its separation from all of the major Colorado ski towns. The town is referred to as “Ski Town U.S.A.” and rightfully so, as it has turned out numerous Olympic athletes. Steamboat Springs confidently carries its old west-vibe with an abundance of home-style diners and cowboy shops, and prides itself in its history and heritage. It is the quality of the resort and its grand mountain though, which allows Steamboat Springs to rank high on the Colorado resort list.
